Under the lamp
Some of what we sell fluoresces: in daylight a grey or white rock, and under a shortwave ultraviolet lamp an answer in green, red, orange or blue that the daylight photo cannot show. Where a specimen fluoresces, its page says under which light and in what colour.
The ledger
Every specimen gets a number, a set of photographs next to a rule for scale, its weight, and whatever we know about where it came from. That record is what a listing is built from, and it stays here after the piece is sold.
